Lavinia Rizvi
Volunteer Research Assistant
Lavinia Rizvi graduated College of Charleston with a B.S. in Psychology in 2017, and intends to attend medical school in 2018. She is particularly interested in researching preventative medicine and treatments for cognitive decline resulting from dementia. As a Clare Boothe Luce Scholar, Lavinia performed research on the binding properties of crown ethers and their organic synthesis. During he undergraduate career, she worked emergency departments as a medical scribe, with rodent subjects in neuroscientific studies on addiction to cocaine and sucrose, and as a supplemental instructor to undergraduate peers in biology. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, visiting art museums, attending performances, and hiking.
